Overview

This unit, Work Legally and Ethically, provides an exploration of the Australian legal system and ethical frameworks, aimed at enhancing your understanding and application of legal and ethical principles in a professional setting. You'll start by delving into the structure and operation of the Australian legal system, understanding different types of law and their implications on various work roles. This foundation will enable you to confidently navigate and apply key workplace policies and legislation.

As you progress, the unit will guide you through the intricacies of working ethically, addressing privacy, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making. You'll engage with modules that foster your ability to manage ethical dilemmas, understand the overlap between legal obligations and ethical responsibilities, and participate in continuous improvement practices within your organisation. By the end of this unit, you'll possess a firm understanding of both the legal and ethical landscapes and be equipped with practical skills to uphold integrity and make informed decisions in your professional life.

Since 1982, Volunteering SA&NT has been the peak body for volunteering. We’re a not-for-profit that provides support to individual volunteers, volunteer involving organisations, businesses and communities who want to make a difference.

Volunteering Tasmania is the peak body for volunteering in Tasmania. Our vision is: an inclusive, thriving and celebrated culture of community participation.

Volunteering Victoria is the state peak body for volunteering, focusing on advocacy, sector development and the promotion of volunteering.

Volunteering WA is the peak body for volunteering in Western Australia, working across community, government, corporate and education organisations to build capacity of volunteer involving organisations, and support volunteering.
